Charlotte Brontë – (1816-1855) was a British novelist, born in Thornton, Yorkshire, England, the eldest out of the three famous Brontë sisters, all writers. She worked as a governess and published a collection of poetry and several novels. Her most famous work, the classic ‘Jane Eyre’ was published under the pen name of Currer Bell.
