Stompin’ Tom Connors

CLEARLY CANADIAN: Stompin’ Tom Connors message to his fans prior to his passing on Mar. 6, 2013 at the age of 77.

“It was a long hard bumpy road, but this great country kept me inspired with it’s beauty, character, and spirit, driving me to keep marching on and devoted to sing about its people and places that make Canada the greatest country in the world.”

“I must now pass the torch, to all of you, to help keep the Maple Leaf flying high, and be the Patriot Canada needs now and in the future.” – Thomas Connors (1936-2013)

According to his official website Connors was raised by foster parents in P.E.I.  until age 13.  His life of poverty and orphanages eventually turned into a life of hit songs, national concert tours and fame in spite of a constant uphill struggle. “The Hockey Song”, “The Consumer” ,“Sudbury Saturday Night” and “Bud The Spud” are just a few of his many recordings – 57 albums have been released in all.
