Festival of Lights

And for those who celebrate Hanukkah – the festival of lights – December 8-16th:

“Still ours the dance, the feast, the glorious Psalm, the mystic lights of emblem, and the Word.”

“Kindle the taper like the steadfast star/ Ablaze on evening’s forehead  o’er the earth,/ And add each night a lustre till afar/ An eightfold splendor shine above thy hearth.”

Emma Lazarus (1849-1887), an American poet born in New York City, she is most famous for her poem, The New Colossus, which appears on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.
